Here is the Baldwin example of the 4-8-2 "Mountain" type locomotive. Similar to its Lima built sister, this 1925 M1 class loco also had 72" drivers, could generate 250 psi boiler pressure for it 27 x 30 cylinders and could apply a tractive effort of 64,550 lbs. One significant difference is it tipped the scales a little heavier - 385,000 pounds. No photographer listed - definitely a reprint from a negative. The date is approximate |
