CSS 702 & 701 - Chicago South Shore & South Bend  Contributor's Pick!       
Nice pair of ex-NYC Alco R-2 electric units adopted by the Chicago South Shore for their electrified line sitting idle at the Michigan City shops area. CSS #702 with a C-C wheel arrangement was built by Alco in February of 1931 as NYC #314 while CSS #701 was built in December of 1930 as NYC #308. No photographer listed.
