WAB 2-10-2 #2507 - Wabash Rwy  Contributor's Pick!       
Caught with a head of steam in the Landers Yard in Chicago, IL, by an unknown photographer, this 1917 Alco built 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive is the essence of power. Specs - L-1 class, 64" drivers, 195 psi boiler pressure, 29x32" cylinders, engine weight of 395,000 lb, tractive effort of 69,698 lb. Unlike its sister units which were sold to various railroads, this loco was scrapped in 1951.
