| Here is another view of the tragic sight of a troop train wreck being pulled by SOU 2-8-2 #6941. A note on back of the photo states "Southern Ry No 6941 Wreck of Troop train, Sandersville, Miss, Jan 29,1941 - 1 killed 30 injured." One online source mentions that the troop train was carrying mostly Indiana recruits to a Mississippi boot camp. Unknown photographer. |
