ALS 0-10-0 #14 - Alton & Southern  Contributor's Pick!       
Although listed as a 0-10-2 configuration since there is no option for 0-10-0, the loco was the last 0-10-0 built by Baldwin. It was purchased for the Alton & Southern's by one of its most important customers, Alcoa, who used the line for mineral transports. Specs - class 14, 57" drivers, impressive 230 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine weight of 324,000 lb, impressive tractive effort of 80,669 lb. From the looks of the rails under the loco, the original negative was wavy when the print was made. No photographer, location or actual date given for the photo.
