| Wirtten off the C&O roster in January of 1958, the loco sat in the lined-out scrap line until 1961 when it was finally torched. Built by Lima in May of 1944 as PM 2-8-4 Berkshire #1232, it served the PM until being absorbed into the C&O roster. The loco was never renumbered however. Final specs - 70" drivers (upgraded from 69" in 1947), impressive 245 psi boiler pressure, 26x34" cylinders, engine weight of 442,500 lb, tractive effort of 69,350 lb..No photographer was listed for the photo. |
