| Here sits another loco relegated to the scrap line at the Proviso yards in Proviso, IL. Built by Lima in October of 1916 as NYC #3949 (serial #5240, class H-5t), it was later reunmbered NYC 1449 in August of 1936. The loco was retired in August of 1949 and scrapped in October of 1949 at Ashtabula, OH. Not sure what it's doing in the Proviso yard at this late date though.Unknown photographer |
