Built by Alco in April of 1949 as MILW #1853 (serial #76746), this switcher and its sisters were in the last group of S2's ordered by Milwaukee. It was later renumbered MILW 843. The loco was traded to EMD in 1966 for a new GP40 replacement. Specs - 10-AS class, 1000 hp, engine weight of 233,000 lb. Unknown photographer. |
