Having worn 7 different numbers in its 53 years of service, this loco is a confusing one to follow. Built by Baldwin in October of 1897 as Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul Vauclain compound ten wheeler #855, it didn't last that way long - renumbered in 4/1899 to CMStP #224, renumbered in 2/1906 tp C
