Title:  CNJ 0-4-0T #840 - Central RR of New Jersey
Description:  This interesting little side tank 0-4-0 loco, CNJ #840, was built by Baldwin in 1907. It started out serving at the Bronx Terminal until 1925. It was removed from there after the Kaufman Act of 1923 was passed that banned steam locos from working with the city confines. It worked at the Communipaw Shops for a number of years. . It's final disposition is currently unknown but most likely scrapped after 1950.. Original specs from back of photo - 45" drivers, 170 psi boiler pressure, 17x24" cylinders, modest engine weight of 91,500 lb and modest tractive effort of 22,272 lb. The photo is by Vesely taken on 120 size film.

CNJ 4-6-0C #785 - Central RR of New Jersey
Title:  CNJ 4-6-0C #785 - Central RR of New Jersey
Description:  Built by Baldwin in March of 1918, CNJ 4-6-0C #785 is a typical camelback on the CNJ roster. After nearly 36 years of service, the loco was sold for scrap in October of 1954. Specs - camelback, class 780/L8s, 69" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine wt of 225,600 lb and tractive effort of 40,143 lb. The photo is by Vesely taken on 120 size film.
