Somehow when I saw this photo by Fred J. Griffith, it seems to be more than just a railroad crossing sign. It seems to be an analogy of railroad history. The sign once stood straight and tall marking the passing steam and then diesel trains at this crossing. Unfortunately time and events took thier toll. It has seen neglect, abused and difficult times but it still stands, serving like it did a long time abo as a reminder to everyone of the dedicated trains passing by every day. Bent but not broken. It's just a sign but means so much more to me. |
