Description:  Poised outside one of the shop areas around Columbus, Ohio, is Altoona built (5/1924) K4s Pacific. Photographer C.W. Burns notes on the back - "The 1 K-4 that had roller brgs on all loco wheels and lite wt roller brg rods & Xheads" According to the Altoona shop records, this loco was eventually scrapped in February of 1950. Specs - 80" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 27x28" cylinders, engine weight of 304,500 lb, and tractive effort of 44,460 lb. The date in 1937 is approximate. This was an October, 1968 reprint from Burns negative.
