CR GG1 #4885 |
Description: |
Built by the PRR Altoona shops and Westinghouse in March of 1939, this once powerful and prestigious locomotive now sits in a scrap line at the Harrisburg, PA, yard after dismissal from service in February of 1980. Note the line of GG1's farther back as well. Conrail conductor Ken Taylor took this color slide several years later of the loco still awaiting the scrappeer's torch. |
