Originally built by the Lima-Hamilton Company in June of 1951 for the Cincinnati Union Terminal, this unit ended up in passenger service for the Whitewater Valley RR. According to Wikipeida, Lima-Hamilton never gave its locomotives model numbers in the ordinary sense. The model designations shown were created by railroad buffs using an L for Lima, S, RS, or T for switcher, roadswitcher, or transfer, followed by a number representing the horsepower. As of 2017, this loco was still on the property and looking even better than it does in my photo. |

Here is another view of the former Cincinnati Union Terminal LS-750 #25 wearing its new home name, Whitewater Valley RR. Built by Lima-Hamilton in June of 1951, this plugger was still on the Whitewater Valley property as late as 2017 and looking even better than it does in my photo back in 1974! |
