One source on the web described the derailment as "A Soo Line train using trackage rights on the Milwaukee Road derailed during its nightly trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in April 1984. I don’t recall the details, but I seem to remember that the cause was some kids reversing a switch to an industrial spur that the train hit at track speed. I don’t believe anyone was seriously hurt." Soo #4420 has already been removed before this photo was taken. Although not marked on the slide , the photographer may have been R.W. Ferge. |
