Title:  ATSF 2-10-2 #902 = Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe
Description:  Built by Baldwin in April of 1904 as ATSF compound 2-10-2 #902, the loco was simplified in October of 1919 at the Albuquerque Shops. After that, the loco lasted for nearly 45 years of service until being scrapped at Albuquerque Shops on January 18, 1949. Even at this date in 1948, the loco was sitting in the dead/scrap line before the scrapper's torch reached it. Arthur B. Johnson photo

Description:  This good looking 2-10-2 Santa Fe type steam locomotive was built by Baldwin in May of 1904 as a compound 2-10-2. This was the last loco in the 900 class of 2-10-2's built by Baldwin. It was simplified in April of 1920 at the Albuquerque Shops. The loco lasted only to November 13, 1948 before being scrapped at San Bernardino Yards. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Description:  This Baldwin Locomotive Works 2-10-2 "Santa Fe" type locomotive was built between 1903-04 as an ATSF class 900. Used primarily as a helper for the mountain lines, this pusher had 57" drivers, developed a strong 225 psi, and delivered a substantial tractive effort of 57,314 lb. It was originally built as a tandem-compound design with 19&32X32 cylinders but was simplified in 1920 at San Bernardino with 28X32 cylinders, retaining the 57" drivers. Unknown photographer

Description:  This good looking 2-10-2 started out as ATSF compound 2-10-2 #629 built by Baldwin in October of 1905 but at the San Bernardino Shops in November of 1921, the loco was rebuilt and simplified. It lasted until being sold for scrap on June 15, 1956 to the Purdy Company. Rebuilt specs - oil burner, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x32" cylinders, engine wt of 317,400 lb and tractive effort of 74,800 lb. Arthur B. Johnson photo

Description:  Brutish looking Baldwin 2-10-2 "Santa Fe type" configuration built for the Santa Fe between 1905-07, class 1600, Originally built as a 4-cyl tandem compound, it was simpled sometime between 1917-24. Some in the class were rebuilt to 2-10-10-2's at a later date. All were gone by 1956. No date, location or photographer listed so approximates were used in listing it.
