CN NF-110 #906 - Canadian National
Title:  CN NF-110 #906 - Canadian National
Description:  Odd shaped cab on this NF-110 unit and 3' 6" narrow gauge trucks make this loco an unusual diesel to say the least. From the looks of it, it appears to be masked for repainting here. Built by GMD (EMD Canada) in February of 1953. This loco has been preserved in St Johns, Newfoundland, Canad and is one of only three that has been preserved. Specs - V12 567 prime mover, 60 mph max speed, 1200 hp, continuous tractive effort of 40,000 lb. The photo is from the I.R. Sage collection. The date is approximate. Since there is no listing in RRPA data base for NF-110, a later model, NF-210, was selected.

CN NF-110 #908 - Canadian National
Title:  CN NF-110 #908 - Canadian National
Description:  Built by GMD (EMD Canada) in February of 1953 (serial #A440), this loco looks almost like a GP7 but the narrow 3'6" truck gauge, wide frame base and the pointed front cab (hidden) makes it stand out from the GP7. Specs - V12 567 prime mover, 60 mph max speed, 1200 hp, continuous tractive effort of 40,000 lb. A note on the back of the photo states "CN #908, built 2/53 (NF110's 900-908 & NF210's 909-946) are strange relatives to geeps. They are 12 cyl, 1200 HP, 42" gage C-C, with 4 longer hoods, all assinged to Newfoundland." Since there is no listing in RRPA data base for NF-110, a later model, NF-210, was selected. From the collection of Larry G. Russell.

CN NF-210 #939 - Canadian National
Title:  CN NF-210 #939 - Canadian National
Description:  From the rear, this loco looks almost like a GP7 but the pointed cab (hidden in the picture), the wide frame base and the narrow 3'6' gauge trucks makes it an odd duck. Built by GMD (EMD Canada) in January of 1960, it was one of the last narrow gauge NF-210's built to run on the Newfoundland Rwy controlled by Canadian National. After retirement in June of 1989, it was exported to Nicaragua and then sold to FCAB in Chile in 1994. Specs - class GR-12x, 3'6" gauge, EMD 12-567C prime mover, max speed 60 mph, 1200 hp.
