Title:  UP 4-8-4 #806 - Union Pacific
Description:  Long before the GP30 wore the number 806, this 1937 Alco-Schenectady built Northern loco did. Specifics - FEF-1 class, 77" drivers, impressive 300 psi boiler pressure, 24.5x32" cylinders, engine weight of 460,640 lb, tractive effort of 63611 lb. UP 4-8-4 #8444
Title:  UP 4-8-4 #8444
Description:  Beautiful shot of last Union Pacific 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive to be built by Alco-Schenectady in 12/24/1944. it is one of UP's oldest serving locomotives[3] and the only steam locomotive owned by a North American Class I railroad that has never been retired. Although no date, location or photographer was listed with the negatives that this was made from, it appears to be the Denver Union Station in the background. The number 8444 was used between 1962-89 due to new diesels taking its original 844 number. This very well may be the Chyenne Western Days special from Denver to Cheyenne.
