LPS L2 & a pair of CN Pacifics |
Description: |
A note on the back by photographer Anthony H. Perles states "L&PS L2 at CNR interdange, while CNR 4-6-2's 5585 and 5143 (class K-3) get under way with a coal drag westbound." The L2 )along with its 2 other sisters) was built in 1915 by GE of Canada for a cost of $29,367. After retiring, it was stored for a museum which never materialized. L2 was later sold privately and moved to the Toronto area. In February 1997, L2 was moved to the Halton County Radial Railway following its donation to the OERHA. |

MILW Boxcab E22 A & B - Milwaukee Road |
Description: |
Nice shot of the E22 pair built by Alco & GE in 1915. No date, location or photographer was given. With Steven Vincent's help (see comment below), the location is the Tacoma, Washington, shops. With Mike Woodruff and Robert Anderson's help (see comments below), the date would be after 10/1955 due to the new paint scheme applied. The slide is stamped October, 1982, most likely making it a duplicate slide. |

MILW Boxcab #10200 - Milwaukee Road |
Description: |
This massive Milwaukee Road boxcab was built by GE in 1915 and was considered the most powerful electric locomotive in the world at that time. The loco is actually made of two half units semi-permanently joined together. Due to the close packing of displays at the museum, it's difficult to photograph the entire massive locomotive. Its major ability was to pull long freight trains over the mountainous divisions in the western United States. |
