AMIN Heisler 2-truck #4 - Ayrshire Collieries (Mines) - Indiana |
Description: |
Nice example of a 1927 Heisler built 2-truck locomotive originally for Mid-Continent Iron Co, serial #1541. Eventually in wound up at the Ayrshire Collieries (Mines) located in unincorporated Ayrshire, Indiana. Not sure but I believe it's sitting next to sister Heisler #5, 6 or 7. This is an R. A. McLeod photo. There is some debate whether AMIN (early) or AMAX (later) is the proper reporting mark - I've listed both. |

PEPCO 43 - Potomac Electric Power Co 0-4-0F (fireless) |
Description: |
This Heisler fireless model built in 1938 served its entire life at shuttling coal cars to the Potomac power plants until retirement in 1978. It relied on being charged with pressurized hot water & steam instead of having a fire to generate them. |
