Although this b&w photo doesn't show it, this LN SD35 is painted the gray/yellow color scheme, a style that many LN fans like. Built by EMD in May of 1965, it was renumbered to LN #4515 sometime in the 1980's. Eventually it was sold to BN, upgraded and renumbered BN SD38P #6268. Later it was absorbed into BNSF as #1560 and later renumbered to BNSF #1808. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo. |

Fairly nice black and white action photo of Central RR of New Jersey GP7 #1520 and CNJ SD35 #2505 with a long string of boxcars in an unidentified yard. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo unfortunately. CNJ was slowly sliding into serious financial problems by the time this photo was taken. Conrail take-over will be its salvation/destruction depending on how you view the merger. Based on a comment by Tom Beckett (see below), this site matches the hump yard at Allentown, PA. Behind it is CR 6092, an ex-Erie Lackawanna SD45 so it puts the date for this photo near the late 1970's and it would be under the Chessie system by now.
