LSI RSD-15 #2403 - Lake Superior & Ishpeming
Title:  LSI RSD-15 #2403 - Lake Superior & Ishpeming
Description:  Built by Alco in January of 1959 for the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe (ex-ATSF 9844, nee-ATSF 844), it was later sold to the Lake Superior & Ishpeming RR. The low hood model like this one was affectionately dubbed "Alligator" from the obvious hood shape. Specs - powered by an ALCO 251 16-cylinder four-cycle V-type prime mover rated at 2,400 hp, had a pair of three-axle Trimount trucks powered by GE model 752 traction motors. Michael A. Tedesco slide

Title:  LSI RSD15 #2404 - Lake Superior & Ishpeming
Description:  Great roster color slide of Lake Superior Ishpeming RSD15 #2404 taken by J. M Seidl. This low, long hood model fittingly which earned the nickname the "alligator" model was built by Alco in January of 1959 as ATSF #810 with a later renumbering to #9810. It was retired from ATSF and sold to LSI in 1975.
