An avid unknown Hoosier photographer caught this GE 70T switcher sitting by one of the large grain elevators owned by The Andersons Company. With no number showing, I took the libery to name it "AEX Dunkirk" for the RRPA data base. General specs - Prime mover Cooper-Bessemer FWL-6T, 6 cylinders, 500-660 hp, B-B wheel configuration. If anyone has additional information about this loco, please leave a commnet. |

WOD GE 70T #57 - Washington & Old Dominion |
Description: |
Sitting outside the Washington & Old Dominion shops area is WOD GE 70T #57. The loco was built by GE in March of 1956 for the WOD Railroad. It showed up in an RRPA listing as late as 1969, a year after the WOD closed. The loco was sent to the B&O's Baltimore engine terminal where a salvage dealer purched it and the other two lcoos. This was taken by an unidentified rail fan. |
