Description:  Built by Fairbanks Morse in December of 1952, uhis switcher spent its entire DLW life on the Bangor & Portland Branch. It moved into the EL group as renumbered 1934 pictured here. The entire group of H16's weqe sold first to Striegel of Baltimore, MD and then resold to Chihuahua al Pacifico (#530) and finally retired sometime in the late 1970's-early 1980's. Description:  According to an April, 1963 issue of Railraod Magazine, this Fairbanks-Morse unit was built in 1951 for the Long Island RR and classified as a FGP-16msc member. The engine weight was 263,660 lb with a tractive effort of 36,000 lb. No information was given for the photo but with Tom Beckett's help (see comment below), I am setting the date to 1963 at Jamaica, NY. No photographer listed.

Description:  Nice color slide of Central RR of New Jersey FM H-16-44 #420 with a trio of commuter cars near the Communipaw Terminal. Built by Fairbanks-Morse aroound July of1950, it served the CNJ in various capacities. Slide by Gerald Landau.

Title:  NYC FM H-16-44 #7010 - New York Central
Description:  Caught here is the Indianapolis yard, Fairbanks-Morse H-16-44 unit NYC 7010 shuffles freight cars on this day in 1964. Built in 1951, this 1600hp switcher had eight-cylinder opposed piston prime mover. The unit had Raymond Loewy styliing like sloping body lines and a noticeable protrusion in the long hood around the radiator shutters. Cab side window units included inoperable "half moon"-shaped panes, resulting in an oblong-shaped assembly.Unknown photogrpaher
