CGRX GP8 #9209 - Consolidated Grain & Barge |
| Description: |
Spotting a car near the massive Consolidated Grain and Barge grain elevators is CGRX GP8 #9209. This rebuilt EMD GP8 unit started out as NYC GP7 #5786. After merging into the Conrail roster, the loco was rebuilt as a GP8 model and carried the number CR #5440. It was sold to Central Michigan Railway as their #9209 before it made it all the way down to Mt Vernon, IN, as part of the CGRX roster. An unknown photographer took this action shot. |
