BM 4-6-2 #3710 - Boston & Maine  Contributor's Pick!
BM 3710 was one of the last ten 4-6-2 locomotives that Lima would ever make for any railroad. To mark the delivery of these 10, Boston & Maine sponsored a naming contest among New England K-8 students. The winning name for this first loco was "Peter Cooper" seen as a plate on the side. The loco is posing at the North Station in Boston on this sunny April day in 1938. It had 80" drivers and developed 260 psi boiler pressure. F. H. Donahue photo
