Built by EMD in 1950, this E8A was the lowest numbered E8A on the IC roster. The sharp looking unit was used primarily on the Chicago to New Orleans route like the "Louisiane". Eventually this unit was transferred to Amtrak. According to several online sources, the unit was scrapped sometime in 1980. |
