Baltimore & Ohio 2-10-2 #6119
Title:  Baltimore & Ohio 2-10-2 #6119
Description:  The cab smoke curtain can be easily seen on this Baldwin S-1a class loco. Not much protection from the smoke and cold but would have cut some of the dust and wind. No information was on the back of this photo so the location and date are arbitrary. Unknown photographer

Description:  With a strong face, S-1a class #6119 hits the rails again. Built by Baldwin between 1923-24, it was still in action here. Unfortunately, no informaiton was on the back of this photo so location and date are arbitrary. Unknown photographer

Baltimore & Ohio 2-10-2 #61XX
Title:  Baltimore & Ohio 2-10-2 #61XX
Description:  The photographer did type some info on this photo but not the loco's number. I couldn't sharpen it enough to read it either. The info also creates a problem - most sources list the last S-1/S-1a being scrapped by 1959. If the date is correct on this photo, at least one lasted into the early 1960's still in revenue service. Can't help but enjoy the plume of trailing smoke! Unknown photographer

BO 2-8-2 #4559
Title:  BO 2-8-2 #4559
Description:  Thanks to Chuck Zeiler for correctly identifying this renumbered and relabeled locomotive at the Huntington Heritage Museum. Originally built for Toledo Angola & Western as their #100, this 1924 Alco-Schenectady 2-8-2 Mikado was later sold to Elk River Coal & Lumber as their #10 and eventually donated to the emerging Huntington Heritage Museum in 1963. A note on the back states "On display at the old B&O station known as Heritage Village". While at Huntington, it was preserved and renumbered as B&O 4559, in honor of a loco that used to serve the town. Original specs - 50" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 22x28" cylinders, engine weight of 202,000 lb, tractive effort of 41,469 lb. Edward H. Weber photo
